Thoughts on Same-Sex Marriage?

It doesn't actually exist. I believe in the Biblical notion of marriage being one man plus one woman.
I believe in the union of marriage laid out with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden in Genesis. The notion of The Father and The Holy Spirit. The notion of marriage laid out by Paul in the New Testament. That being said, I do believe in civil unions replete with many of the same work and tax benefits that married heterosexual couples enjoy. Recognizing matrimony as it has been known for millenia (both individually and collectively) leads to blessings both on an individual scale as well as a society. Failure to do so? Not so much.
Call me old-fashioned if you wish, but it's simply a matter of sharing the truth with my listeners.
God never changes. All this said, I believe that powers not explicitly granted to the federal government belong to the states. In other words, I believe that the onus is upon state governments to manage marriages and civil unions. In other words, the opinion of someone living in Oregon should have no bearing upon the relationships of persons living in Texas (and vice versa). Also, I felt the need to point out the fact that one's prayers for miracles and healing may be hindered due to one's lifestyle choices that do not square up with God's word. I say this in all honesty.
May God bless you and yours.
I'll see you all soon. Bet on it.
