There is a main idea that I need to imprint upon your hearts in a time of great turbulence and noise. The idea is that there is a distinct difference between hope and worry (anxiety). What I am referring to is the passage of time at the end of this age. Christians are to look forward to the Blessed Hope and the Day of the Lord. Hope can be defined as "to expect with confidence." In other words, it is something that can be counted on. The other important word here is anxiety. What is anxiety? Anxiety is "a state of apprehension and psychic tension occurring in some forms of mental disorder. "
Jesus Christ talks about anxiety in Matthew 6:25-34. He tells us not to be anxious about anything and to take life one day at a time. This brings me to my next point. We are supposed to seek the kingdom of God and thus be in right standing with Him. Everything else will fall into place once the proper amount of time and preparation has elapsed. The idea here is to improve our home so that we will have something to come back to and enjoy later. In other words, let us not place the cart before the horse. In order to achieve this, work needs to be done first. A baseball manager will tell you that each game is is managed by living in the present while keeping the end in mind.
We should apply this same template to the way we view the passage of time and the way we conduct our daily lives . I am not satisfied. No one truly is in this life. Join the club. But what is in fact helpful is the willingness to help us achieve our goals. Contribution.
